Snore Guards & Other Oral Appliances
Snoring is a very common problem that affects both sufferers and their partners alike. It may also be indicative of Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA), which is a serious health condition characterized as a complete or partial physical obstruction of the upper airway while sleeping. This can be potentially life-threatening, since you may be partially or completely deprived of oxygen at the most vulnerable moment. Fortunately, snoring and OSA can be effectively treated and controlled with snore guards and other custom oral devices that comfortably keep your airways open while you sleep.
Clenching, Jaw Pain, & Teeth Grinding Mouth Guards
Bruxism is the clinical term to describe the persistent habit of clenching and grinding your teeth. This disorder can vary in severity among individuals, and may lead to the following conditions if left untreated: permanent damage to the teeth, tooth loss, chronic jaw pain, headaches, interrupted sleep, ringing in the ears, and TMJ (Tempro-Mandibular Joint Dysfunction Syndrome). We can help you effectively control your bruxism with customised teeth grinding mouth guards and other wearable dental appliances. More severe and complex cases of bruxism and TMJ may be referred to other specialists for additional treatment.
Sedation
We understand that dental treatment can cause a lot of anxiety, stress, and discomfort for adult and pediatric patients alike. For a calm and relaxing experience, we offer nitrous oxide (laughing gas) or pills for oral sedation. If your appointment requires sedation, you will need a companion to take you home. Oral sedation is often stronger than laughing gas and may cause you to fall asleep during treatment. Nonetheless, you can still be woken up under the effects of the medication.
